This has been by far the most sensitive election ever. Whether you’re Democratic or Republican, liberal or conservative, left or right, supporting Obama or supporting McCain, I’ve always believed talking about politics with others, although it may lead to anger and heated debates, is important to help each other grow intellectually.
There is no greater place to learn than a forum that encourages the “marketplace of ideas.” As I’ve sent political e-mails to many of my friends, I’m sure I’ve offended many of my friends who hold different political beliefs from me. I have always opened myself up to hear both sides and I will listen to and respect anyone’s opinion. I believe that the First Amendment is the most important right that we have and exercising that right is one of the greatest freedoms that we possess.
As a “conservative right-winger” myself, I can’t help but wait to be spoon-fed everything by the Drudge Report. I came across an interesting article that got quite a lengthy debate going between Obama and McCain supporters. It was quite enlightening and extremely entertaining to read what people from both sides of the argument had to say. I read every comment left by everyone and here are some of the ones that found interesting:
One of America’s basic rights, freedom of speech, gives us the right to state our opinions. However, it is our values and character that steer us through how that expression of opinion is to be carried out.

I’m so looking forward to an Obama administration fixing everything in this country. Just think we will actually have a balanced budget or even a surplus, free medical care, no more mortgages, free health care, free gas, and all the ruthless leaders in the world will get together and sing cum by yah at Obamas former church.
I guess I can stop working hard and saving my money for retirement… because change we can believe in is coming!
Thank you Obama!
————————————-
Unemployment up from 4.5% to 6.1%…
Housing market crashed…
Stock Market almost crashed…
The DOW dropped 6000…
$850 Billion bailout…
GDP shrinking…
Consumer confidence down…
